It’s not often that when people on the internet complain, a big company such as Paramount Pictures actually listen. Well, this is the case as Sonic the Hedgehog director Jeff Fowler has announced that “changes” will be made. This is in response to the backlash received after the Sonic the Hedgehog live-action movie trailer was released on Tuesday.
The internet has been flooded with fans uploading their own artwork of what Sonic should look like. The sad part is, most of these look much, much better than what Paramount Pictures originally presented. Especially the work of Twitter handle @EdwardPun1, I can’t fault his rework of Sonic. Hopefully Jeff opens his wallet and hires Mr. Pun1, time is ticking Jeff!
How much of Sonic will be redesigned? No one can be sure, I assume not even Jeff himself. But I do know one thing, there will be A LOT of work for Jeff and his team. Will all this CGI work effect the November release date? I hope not, but don’t be surprised if we don’t see Sonic until 2020.
