Sony launches 3 new native 4K SXRD Home Cinema Projectors

Hot off the press today Sony unveiled 3 of their newest home cinema projectors. The 3 new native 4K projectors are the VPL-VW590, VPL-VW790 and their flagship model the VPL-GTZ380 have all joined Sony’s line-up.

Sony has led the 4K home cinema projector market with our native 4K SXRD projectors for nearly a decade, and we’re thrilled to announce a new range of powerhouse models for our customers and CI dealers,” said Anna Tan, Sony Professional Solutions – Display, Product Manager – Australia and New Zealand. “Offering a big screen, immersive viewing experience that delivers the creator’s true intent is a core goal when developing our new projectors, and these new models are no exception.”

VPL-VW590ES and VPL-VW790ES key features

The new lamp VPL-VW590ES model and laser VPL-VW790ES promise to offer an incredibly clear HDR experience using their new picture processor “X1 for projector” tech.

The both also feature Dynamic HDR Enhancer, Digital Focus Optimiser and Sony’s Unique Super Resolution “Reality Creation” Technology. These features allow for users to enjoy a richer, sharper and reproduce real-world textures like never before.

The VPL-VW590 will be selling for $11,999.00 and come in a choice of black or white while the VPL-VW790 will be available for $22,999.00 and will only be available in black. Both models will be available in September 2020.

The flagship VPL-GTZ380 Key Features

Sony’s new flagship 4K professional SXRD laser projector VPL-GTZ380 is promising to deliver an impressive experience in any room you wish to use it. With high contrast, brightness and wide colour gamut weighing in at 51kg. Featuring the “X1 Ultimate for projector,” to enable enhanced picture quality.

With a newly-developed 0.74” native 4K SXRD panel with improved light stability and a new laser light source using a red laser diode including the two different-wavelength blue laser diodes. This allows the VPL-GTZ380 to achieve an impressive 10,000 lumens and a wide colour gamut of 100% DCI-P3 without any loss of brightness.

The VPL-GTZ380 will be available only in black in January 2021 with a price to still be announced.
