Today the Minecraft team announced the release date for the upcoming Minecraft Dungeons. A new action-adventure, dungeon crawler-style game in which up to four players fight together to defeat the evil Arch-Illager.
Originally planned for the end of April. The Mojang team wanted to ensure the health and safety of their crew due to COVID-19 and the current state of the world. Extending the release date now set for May 26.
We love a good announcement here at Mojang – no matter the type. Just this morning, my team announced that I needed to clean out my moldy old lunchboxes from the fridge. Can you imagine the excitement? The anticipation? The thrill? But we’re not here to talk about my trivial duties. We have much bigger things to share.
Minecraft Dungeons will be available May 26 on Xbox One and Xbox Game Pass, as well as Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4. Check out some of epic new environments explained by the development team at Minecraft below.
Pre-order’s are up from today on some platforms with the Standard Edition costing you AU$29.95 and the beefed up Hero Edition AU$44.95 containing a Hero Pass that includes a Hero Cape, two player skins, and a chicken pet. The Hero Edition also includes two upcoming DLC packs.
