Razer Ornata V2 is the sequel to the original Ornata released back in 2018 and promises to fill the void between work and play.
The Ornata series distinguishes itself from other boards with its Hybrid Mecha-Membrane switches, which as the name implies, unites membrane and mechanical to create a truly unique switch. The switches are said to provide a soft, comfortable typing feel with the positive clicky feedback of a mechanical switch.
The biggest change to the design over the first generation is the much-welcomed addition of dedicated media controls, my favourite of which is the infinite scroll wheel. This has become a must-have for me and as I feel its a considerably more natural way of controlling volume. Along with the wheel, you also get 3 additional media keys which are all programmable through Razer Synapse 3. The wrist rest also looks like it gets a bit of a material upgrade over the previous generation and connects magnetically to the front of the keyboard.
As you would expect from any board designed with gaming in mind you get fully programmable keys which can be customised through Razer Synapse 3 software and let’s not forget it fully supports Razer Chroma RGB in-game integrations from over 100 game titles.
Razer Ornata V2 also brings with it several cable routing options to keep all you neat freaks happy.
So if you’re a student by day and a gamer by night the Razer Ornata V2 might just be the answer for you to ensure you still hit your WPM count without missing a single frag.
