NVIDIA Officially Announces Next-Generation GeForce RTX 30 Series

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30 Series Announced

“Welcome…. to my kitchen.” NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang welcomes a new era in gaming.

Based on the NVIDIA Ampere architecture, NVIDIA today unveiled new GeForce RTX 30 Series GPUs, NVIDIA’s “greatest generational leap in company history.” The three new cards announced absolutely smash current cards performance, offering 2x the performance and 1.9x the power efficiency, the 30 series leads the way into the next generation of gaming. Let’s take a look at those cards!

GeForce RTX 3070

Priced at $499, this base 30 series card is still faster than the current 2080ti and at less than half the price. Average benchmarks put this card at 60% percent faster than an RTX 2070. The 3070 features 8GB of GDDR6x memory.

GeForce RTX 3080

Priced at $699, this card is being sold as “the ultimate gaming GPU.” Featuring 10GB of GDDR6x memory which can reach speeds of 19Gbps, this card is 2x more powerful than an RTX 2080. Supposedly the 3080 can run native 4k at 60 FPS with no issues.

GeForce RTX 3090 – The BFGPU

The most powerful of the new 30 series, the 3090 has a monstrous 24GB of GDDR6x memory. The three slot beast of a GPU features two fans with a flow-through design that can keep the card 30c cooler while being 50% more powerful than current TITAN RTX cards. The 3090 boasts 60FPS at native 8K for the cost of $1,499.

Featuring Ampere Architecture, theses 2nd generation RTX cards are not only offering an insane jump in performance but also introduce new features made possible by the powerful new technology.

The GeForce RTX 3090, 3080 and 3070 GPUs will be available as custom boards, including stock-clocked and factory-overclocked models, from top add-in card providers such as ASUS, Colorful, EVGA, Gainward, Galaxy, Gigabyte, Innovision 3D, MSI, Palit, PNY and Zotac and as Founders Editions from www.nvidia.com.
