EG, Fighting Pepegas, and J.Storm are off to the MDL Chengdu Major

EG dominate as SumaiL’s Quincy Crew fail to qualify

The North American qualifiers have concluded and if there’s one thing to take away from the qualifiers, it’s that the new generation of Evil Geniuses are looking scary good!

The first Major of the season kicks off November 16 in China. Representing NA will be Evil Geniuses, Fighting Pepegas, and J.Storm. Surprisingly the star-studded Quincy Crew featuring brothers SumaiL and YawaR failed to qualify for the MDL Chengdu Major, but all is not lost for Quincy Crew. The winner of the Summit 11 Minor will also feature at the MDL Chengdu Major, giving the boys more time to gel together.

EG dominated from day one, going through the group stage without dropping a game. In fact, EG only dropped one game all tournament against EG’s favorite son SumaiL and his Quincy Crew. A change of the position for RAMZES666 to the offlane has appeared to rejuvenate the Russian superstar, while the qualifiers was as good as any reason for Abed to style on his Invoker.

EternaLEnVy’s Fighting Pepegas perhaps surprised many by with their impressive display, topping Group B before easily defeating J.Storm 2-0 to claim the 2nd qualifying spot behind EG. The farming machine EE in particular had a good tournament, displaying a versatile range of heroes.

A new look J.Storm continued their winning form from Midas Mode 2, defeating Quincy Crew in their a 3rd place decider 2-0 to book the remaining tickets to the MDL Chengdu Major. Old man Fear would be pleased, but you know that he would of loved to defeat EG… at least he got the w over his old prodigy SumaiL!
