Today, Bethesda Softworks has announced that DOOM Eternal has broken franchise records for opening weekend sales. Also securing the best-selling game on Steam for the week, bringing in over 100,000 concurrent players on the platform.
Both fans and critics are praising the game, as well as idTech 7 (the engine that powers DOOM Eternal) as many are calling it a clear game-of-the-year contender and one the best first-person shooter campaigns in the history of the genre.
Metacritic scores of 90/89/87 on PC/Xbox/PS4, and a solid 96% on OpenCritic are a clear indication of the games success. While Steam users are also loving the release, showing 20,152 Very Positive Reviews at the time of posting.

DOOM Eternal is rated R18 and is available now in Standard Edition for $99.95, or Deluxe Edition for $169.95.
