Close to the Sun, a horror game that’s aesthetically gorgeous (hot tip- it may look like Bioshock, but don’t expect anything close to Bioshock), has recently set a release date for PC platform only. Developer Storm in a Teacup have recently confirmed a May 2nd release for PC, with console gamers forced to wait until later in 2019.
Close to the Sun is one of my most anticipated releases for 2019. Drawing inspiration from recent horror classics such as Outlast and Layer of Fear, Close to the Sun combines the mystery, atmosphere and suspense from these titles with a unique story based set in 1897 where Nikola Tesla is the most powerful man in the world. You play the role of Rose, a journalist who’s trying to find her sister. You quickly find yourself onboard The Helios- “a haven for the greatest scientific minds. An unbound utopia for research, independent from state and isolated from the gaze of society. Free to push the boundaries of matter and time” or in layman’s term, a big, spooky boat stationed in international waters so Tesla can do bad and evil things. This is where you discover everything is not well and the fun and mystery begins… all without combat!
Close to the Sun is an Epic Store exclusive and is available now for pre-purchasing at $29.99, you can order your copy here.
