After a long year of high caliber gameplay, multiple top level events and engaging player storylines, the Capcom Pro tour 2019, held in Los Angeles, California has come to an end.
The event began with the Last-chance Qualifier, the last open tournament to allow its winner a direct spot into the top 32 Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition players.
It was no wonder that the LCQ had one of the most fierce competition of the year for an open tournament, which saw Kaitagari‘s Moke make it into the final after an impressive Winners side run, taking a 3-0 victory over Radiance‘s Commander Jesse in the Grand finals.
Capcom Cup then saw the top 32 players from the around the world face off to take home both the tropy and he prize pool of 250.000 USD. The biggest upset came from american player iDom who faced REC Punk in the Grand Finals, after being sent to the losers bracket by him. Ona fantastic sets, iDom managed to reset the bracket 3-2 to later overcome his demon winning over Punk 3-1 and crowning himself grand champion of SFV:AE.
With iDom’s victory, season four and Arcade Edition have thus come to an end, and season 5 along with Champion Edition are now out, including all the content shown by Capcom earlier during the tour.
Capcom Cup will return on 2020 and will be held in Paris rather than in the US, as announced by Capcom after announcing the tour for next year.
